A taskforce ready to jump into action? on 12.1.
A taskforce ready to jump into action? on 12.1.

If there is anything certain at all in the current debate on planning, it is the correlation between the emphasis placed on the diagnosis of a crisis in the planning discipline and the level of significance attributed to so-called players. The player, as an active social subject, functions in a certain sense as a taskforce that must always jump in whenever formal planning methods are no longer effective. What significance does this have for a discipline that has traditionally helped turn the big wheels of society and that was able, to an extent equaled by few disciplines other than politics, to convey the impression that social processes could be controlled formally as well? What inferences can we draw from the fact that planning is no longer focused on instruments but rather players?
