... and KEEP OFF THE GRASS !
... and KEEP OFF THE GRASS !

'The major function of communal spaces is to provide the arena for life between buildings, the daily unplanned activities - pedestrian traffic and simple social activities from which additional communal life can develop.'(Jan Ghel, 2001)

Simon Persighetti is a member of Wrights & Sites (UK). He will discuss the politics of place and walking as an arts practice. Urban spaces can offer passages to utopian or creative relationships with the everyday. The Mis-Guide projects marked a shift from performance-making for an audience to walking with spectators as collaborators in the work. Incident, coincidence and observation en route become integral to practical and imagined outcomes in the spaces between buildings. Simon is an artist and lecturer at Dartington Campus, University College Falmouth, UK.
