"Gardening is a source of inspiration and on top of everything very refreshing. In my individual case, I can't help thinking that the artist's activity as gardener is just a pretext. The responsibility of lavishing care and attention on the plants embodies a deeper meaning. Sowing an idea on fruitful ground creates wondrous sites of beauty, places for outdoor salons, sources of discussions and bones of contention. At the very least it provides a platform whose existence is only possible through people participating in the process of growth, wherein failure is inherent."

Artist Andrea Theis will present a selection of her situation-specific and process-oriented works in public space. She is currently Assistant Professor to the MFA-Program "Public Art and New Artistic Strategies" at the Bauhaus-University Weimar.
