Engineers, managers and technicians of the Erfurt based company Topf & Sons designed and installed the crematoria and gas chamber ventilation systems that had played a decisive role in the process of mastering the technical challenges concerning the "Final Solution". By means of an ongoing series of public debates and lectures, panel discussions, info points, art exhibitions theatre performances, radio programmes as well as specialist classes at schools and universities a diverse group of activists enforced more and more successfully a new and intensive focus on the most disturbing and up to then 'kindly' overlooked part of the history of Erfurt. We will try to reconstruct the shifting perspectives and strategies of this post-memorial interventions.
