Challenging the Public Imagination on 5.5.

Adnan Yildiz will link a discussion topic to the current agenda of ACC Gallery Weimar regarding Asl? Çavuo?lu's recent contribution to the program. He will talk about a common experience they both shared; a collaborative project from 2007, "A Pilot Study: Off the Record" produced with Asli Çavuoglu, Emre Hüner, Cevdet Erek, Mehmet Dere and Selim Birsel for a public gallery in the municipality building, Izmir, Turkey as well as the research of the exhibiton, "There is no audience, an exhibition about public imagination". As a work-in-progress to be opened by 22 May 2009, the exhibiton project, "There is no audience, an exhibition about public imagination" is based on a set of urgent questions intended for collaborative development, such as: Who is our audience today and who will they be tomorrow? How do we contribute to the construction of a public imagination? What is the balance between media and content in art practice today?
